About this site

This documentation resource and archive exists to preserve, promote, and protect the historical documents, political legacy, and the present and future of the Palestinian revolution and the Palestinian left, specifically, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

This collection of documents is intended for scholars and those interested in the PFLP, to serve as an electronic library of the rich revolutionary material produced by the Front throughout its history. Launched on 11 December 2016 on the 49th anniversary of the founding of the PFLP, this site is a living library. It will regularly be updated with additional historical documents and resources, and readers are invited to participate in submitting their own historical documents for preservation and publication on this site. Additional translations of published materials into other languages are welcome.

The archive is also intended to serve as a resource for scholars, writers and researchers seeking out original sources on the history, views, and program of the PFLP and the Palestinian national liberation movement.

Furthermore, this is intended as a resource not only for the Palestinian liberation movement, but for the international revolutionary and progressive movements. The documents and contributions of the PFLP are not restricted to the Palestinian revolution, but are relevant to all struggles for national liberation, social justice, and socialism. Just as the Palestinian revolution has benefited substantially from its connections and mutual solidarity with other liberation movements, these documents are one aspect of the Front’s contribution to the international revolutionary struggle.

These documents are also a powerful resource for Palestinian youth organizers seeking out the living legacies of struggle that continue today in the Front, and for Palestinian communities in exile and diaspora around the world. They are also meaningful and important for participants in the growing Palestine solidarity movement – from the historical documents of the International Relations Committee of the Front to reports on the boycott movement of the 1980s, both the theoretical foundations of the Palestinian movement and the material histories of organized struggle are made evident in the documents archived here.

Most essentially, these documents are not a dry record of a history that is past or a fond and romantic memory with little connection to today’s liberation movement. On the contrary, these documents and writings are just as essential, relevant and critical today as they have ever been. As we work and struggle to build the movement for the liberation of Palestine, as people mark the 49th anniversary of the Front and its continuing struggle for that liberation, these documents continue to lay the framework for those that will be written in the future, as well as the basis for the developing and growing Palestinian revolutionary liberation struggle.

This is an independent archive maintained for research and historical purposes.
